1958 Binz Crew Cab
This is a super rare Pre VW production Binz Crewcab. The van was originally a '58 pick up that was sent to Binz coachbuilders - who extended the cab, added a suicide door, shortened the dropgate and bed and added a rear seat.
There are a lot of Binz only features that I wanted to keep during the restoration, so replicated as much as possible and used lead
wherever possible - just like they did in 1958. This was the only Binz known in Europe at the time!
The restoration included a full blast, then every panel worked with NOS or hand made reproduction one off panels -using all the binz only parts as templates.
The bus was finished off with a 1200 Okrassa Motor, and was better than it left the factory 50 years earlier!
Delivered to the Hessisch Oldendorf Show 2009 for the new European owners to take home.
